BMW 3 Series Jahre Edition

The BMW 3 Series, the world-famous sedan that for several decades was the poster boy of the BMW brand, has completed 50 years of being on sale. It was first introduced in 1975, with the first generation named "E21," and from there, the journey began. Through all these decades and even today, the 3 Series remains the go-to choice for adults who love spirited driving and want a car that provides the most complete overall German engineering experience.

Now in its seventh generation, called G28, the BMW 3 Series is available in two different body types - one is the 3 Series Long Wheelbase called 330Li, and the other is the performance version, the M340i, with a standard wheelbase but a 3.0L twin-turbo inline-6 engine. The newly launched Jahre Edition is available with both these variants but is limited to only 50 units.
- 330Li M Sport Jahre Edition - Rs 64,00,000
- M340i Jahre Edition - Rs 76,90,000

Moreover, this special edition includes a laser-engraved artwork on the B-pillar with '1/50' badging, special '50 Jahre' emblems on the front and rear along with hubcaps, M badging and M340i badging in high-gloss black, and an M Performance key fob. Exclusive details on the 330Li include the M High-Gloss Shadowline package (kidney grille, window surrounds, rear diffuser, and tailpipes in high-gloss black), carbon-fibre interior trim, and a BMW Head-Up Display with 3D Augmented View navigation.

Verdict
The BMW 3 Series remains the best performance-oriented sedan available in India under Rs 1 crore, outperforming all its rivals - and even some cars above its segment. The M340i continues to hold the title of the fastest accelerating ICE car made in India, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. However, this seventh generation, introduced in 2018, is starting to feel a bit dated. The '50 Jahre' Edition adds some much-needed excitement, but enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the eighth generation.
