Design
The new M 1000 R carries an aggressive and compact design inspired by the RR superbike family. The front of the roadster looks very aggressive as the dual-flow LED headlights derived from the RR models provide a sharper look.
The signature M winglets on the front generate aerodynamic downforce when riding upright and while leaning in corners. At 220 km/h, they increase the front-wheel load by 11 kg.
The M Carbon wheels are available with the M Competition Package, and aerodynamic brake ducts integrated into the front mudguards help improve airflow. The rear frame and swingarm are finished in Platinum Grey metallic, while the slim and aggressive styling emphasises its track-ready DNA.
Engine
The new BMW M 1000 R is powered by a water-cooled inline 4-cylinder engine with a capacity of 999 cc, producing 210 hp and 113 Nm of torque. The bike can accelerate from 0100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h. The BMW ShiftCam technology increases torque and pulling power in the low and medium speed range, while also improving peak power.
Ride Modes
The BMW M 1000 R offers five ride modes - Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race and Race Pro 1-3. These modes allow riders to customise throttle response, engine braking, traction control, wheelie control and ABS/ABS Pro.
Features and Tech
The roadster is equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster featuring a redesigned rev counter display and an OBD interface for GPS datalogger and GPS laptrigger. Other features include a lightweight battery, rear USB charging socket, powerful LED lighting units, adaptive turning lights, electronic cruise control and heated grips.
M Package
BMW offers an optional M Competition Package for riders looking to maximise track performance. This package includes carbon wheels, GPS laptrigger & datalogger support, carbon fibre body components, a fully adjustable rider footrest system, pillion package and pillion cover, and additional aerodynamic carbon parts.

Verdict
The BMW M 1000 R is a track-focused naked superbike that delivers brutal acceleration, a high top speed, and advanced electronics. Its aerodynamic winglets enhances stability and overall performance, making it a thrill on both road and track. With premium build quality and cutting-edge features, it stands out as a flagship machine. However, its high price positions it primarily for enthusiasts and collectors.
