BMW M2 CS

The "CS" in its name stands for Competition Sport, indicating that this is a more track-focused car, built to provide the most connected driving experience that every race car driver seeks. And yes, as per official figures, it has shattered a few records. For instance, it is now the fastest compact sedan recorded on the world-famous "Green Hell" racetrack - the Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany. It completed the 20.832 km run in just 7:25.5 minutes, which is staggering.

This has been made possible as the M2 CS is 30 kg lighter and produces 50 hp more than the standard version. For India, this is big news, as it marks the first-ever M2 CS to be launched here. Adding to its appeal, only limited units will be brought to the country, making it an exclusive product. Speaking of the engine, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six delivers the same output as the BMW M4 Competition - 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque - sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed torque converter automatic. The result? A 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 302 km/h.
Desing Changes

The BMW M2 CS adopts a sharper, more track-focused character both inside and out. On the exterior, it features extensive use of carbon fibre elements such as a carbon roof, boot lid, mirror caps, and a CS-specific rear diffuser, along with a ducktail spoiler, a more aggressive kidney grille, and exclusive Gold Bronze forged wheels in a staggered setup. Inside, the cabin leans heavily towards a motorsport-inspired theme with M Carbon bucket seats, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, a carbon centre console with CS lettering, and illuminated CS-specific details, creating a more lightweight, aggressive, and driver-focused environment.
Lastly, the new BMW M2 CS comes in four colour options: Brooklyn Grey, Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire, and the BMW Individual Velvet Blue finish.
Verdict
The BMW M2 CS stands out as a hardcore, track-focused machine that prioritises driving purity over outright comfort or practicality. With its lighter construction, sharper dynamics, and significantly more power, it delivers an engaging rear-wheel-drive experience thats rare in today's performance car landscape. While its exclusivity and high price may limit its appeal, for enthusiasts seeking an uncompromised driver's car, the M2 CS makes a compelling case.
