Tata Sierra, as expected, beyond its usual hype, has scored a full house of 5 stars in the Bharat NCAP test ratings. As for the scores, in the adult occupant protection (AOP) category, the Tata Sierra delivers an outstanding performance with a score of 31.14 out of 32. The crash test results indicate strong structural integrity, with most critical areas such as the chest, knees, and lower legs receiving good to adequate protection ratings. It also successfully cleared the side pole impact test, demonstrating consistent protection across different crash scenarios.

It achieved near-perfect scores in dynamic crash tests and a full score in child seat installation checks, ensuring secure and stable child seat mounting. The NA petrol produces 105 bhp and 145 Nm, and can be paired with either a manual or DCA transmission. The turbo-petrol variant delivers 158 bhp and 255 Nm, and is offered with an automatic gearbox. Meanwhile, the diesel engine puts out 115 bhp and 260 Nm, and is available with both manual and automatic transmission options. Verdict

With a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, the Tata Sierra clearly positions itself as one of the safest SUVs in its class. Its strong crash test performance, combined with a well-rounded set of active and passive safety features, makes it a highly reassuring choice for families. While the segment is crowded with feature-rich rivals, the Sierra's safety credentials give it a clear edge. For buyers who place a premium on occupant protection, the Tata Sierra stands out as a well-balanced option, however, you do get some more 5 star options in this segment as well, but that is a story for a different time.
