Audi SQ8 Design: Typical Audi Character That Works

The Audi SQ8 adopts a more performance-focused take on the Q8's coupe-SUV styling, with its sleek proportions and aggressive detailing. Up front, the SUV features Audi's single-frame grille with a distinctive honeycomb mesh, lending it a sharper and more dynamic appearance. Slim LED headlamps and pronounced air intakes further enhance its bold stance. In profile, the sloping roofline adds a coupe-like silhouette, frameless doors, while S-specific alloy wheels and darkened accents underline its sporty character. At the rear, a full-width LED light strip, sporty exhaust tips, and a diffuser-inspired bumper, along with a subtle roof spoiler, complete the high-performance design theme. The design is unmistakably typical Audi, and honestly, it works very well with its sporty nature.
Interior & Features: Premium & Loaded

Step inside the Audi SQ8 and you're greeted with a cabin that blends sportiness with high-end luxury. The interior features sport seats wrapped in a premium Dinamica microfiber and leather combination, while buyers can opt for Valcona leather seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions for an added layer of comfort. The dashboard is dominated by Audi's Virtual Cockpit Plus and MMI Navigation Plus with touch response, offering a highly digital user experience. Enhancing the ambience further is the 30-colour ambient lighting system and elegant matte brushed aluminium inlays. On the feature front, the SQ8 packs in everything expected from a flagship performance SUV. It gets a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, 4-zone climate control, wireless charging via Audi Phone Box and soft-close doors with a powered tailgate.
Convenience is taken up a notch with park assist plus and 360-degree cameras, while the flat-bottom sport steering wheel with paddle shifters reinforces its performance focus. Safety is also well covered with eight airbags, Audi Pre Sense system, cruise control with speed limiter, and optional tech like night vision assist and head-up display, making the SQ8 both luxurious and intelligent. Beyond this, you also get a ton of optional features to choose from, which obviously, are available at an extra premium cost.

Powertrain: The V8 Beast Underneath

The Audi SQ8 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, delivering an impressive 507 hp and 770 Nm of torque. This engine is shared with the more performance-focused RS Q8, though it has been tuned differently to suit the SQ8's character. All this power takes the SUV to a top speed of 250 kmph with the 0-100 sprint in the bag in just 4.1 seconds. Power is channelled to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission, paired with Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system, ensuring strong grip, stability, and confident performance across a variety of driving conditions.
The Audi SQ8 is positioned between the regular Q8 and the more extreme RS Q8 in Audi's SUV lineup at Rs 1.78 crores ex-showroom.
Verdict
The SQ8 neatly bridges the gap between the standard Q8 and the more performance heavy RS Q8, hitting that sweet spot of price and relative premium affodability. This in no way means that it is in any way less, especially going by all that it has to offer in terms of performance or the outright standard equipment list. While you may not have an option for boosting up the performance numbers, the tons of extra optionals make it easier to bump up the feel and expereince for the buyers.
