Yamaha YZF-R3 And MT-03 Launch Date Confirmed For India - Details

Yamaha is set to introduce the YZF-R3 and the MT-03 in the Indian market on December 15. Both bikes will make their debut simultaneously, and our comprehensive review of these Japanese twins will be available shortly. While the Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03 share the same platform, their designs set them apart. Both models utilize a common 321cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, generating 42bhp and 29.6Nm, coupled with a six-speed gearbox. Notable features include LED lighting and an LCD display providing various readouts such as speedometer, odometer, trip meter, tachometer, gear position indicator, and fuel level. It's worth noting that Bluetooth connectivity is not available on either bike.

The hardware components are identical on the Yamaha MT-03 and YZF-R3. Both incorporate USD front forks and a mono-shock for suspension, along with a single front and rear disc equipped with dual-channel ABS for braking. These components are mounted on 17-inch wheels fitted with road-oriented tires.

In terms of design, the YZF-R3 boasts full-faired bodywork with a split LED headlight and a central duct. In contrast, the MT-03 is a naked motorcycle with a single-pod headlight featuring a projector LED in the center, flanked by DRLs on the sides. The MT-03's robust-looking fuel tank enhances its visual appeal.

Both the Yamaha R3 and MT-03 will be available at select Blue Square dealerships, with deliveries commencing shortly after the scheduled launch on December 15. Once released, the R3 will compete with models such as the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, and other models. Meanwhile, the MT-03 will go head-to-head with the new KTM 390 Duke, TVS Apache RTR 310, and BMW G 310 R.
