Ford Mustang Mach E Registered: Launch Confirmed?

Ford's Indian comeback may not have been officially confirmed but the continuous developments hint at it. First, Ford cancelled the sales of its production plant in Chennai. Secondly, the Endeavour SUV design was patented in India. Third, Ford India listed numerous job vacancies for various positions including manufacturing and sales marketing. Now, the trademarking of Mustang Mach E additionally confirms this.

Speaking of the Mach E, it is a crossover Mustang that is based on an electric platform. Ford offers it in various variants including a FWD, RWD, and a GT grade as well. These offer a variety of battery packs and different levels of performance depending upon the variant chosen.

The top-spec GT grade is the most powerful and it gets a 98.8kWh battery pack. This version can do 0-100 kmph in just 3 seconds. Also, the driving range is 378 km WLTP-claimed. This version is most likely to be launched in India.

Ford will most probably debut it in the CBU form. With that said, its pricing shall remain upwards of Rs 70 lakh upon the launch. Its direct rivals in India will be the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Verdict
Despite of Ford leaving sales and manufacturing operations in India, its products have been in a high demand in the used car market. The popular SUVs like Endeavour and Ecosport are still beloved by the car buyers. With all the hints towards the right direction, we suspect that Ford can re-enter India by late 2024.
