Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd has finally launched the Activa 6G with BS6 compliant engine in two variants- Standard at Rs 63,912 and Deluxe at Rs 65,421, prices being ex-showroom Delhi. Surprisingly, a lot of changes have been made to the Activa but is it worth the upgrade? Let's see the changes Honda has made to the Activa 6G!

Taking about the visual changes first in this Activa 6G vs Activa 5G comparison, the headlight has been given a single housing treatment rather than the dual housing in the 5G and the front gills has received a design overhaul and more chrome garnish. Now, Activa finally is getting external fuel filling nozzle which can be opened from a button placed with the key lock mechanism and the same also used to open the seat. The rear light has gone a tad sharper thanks to the space taken by external fuel filling nozzle.

Finally, Telescopic front suspension has made its way into the Activa 6G unlike the trailing link suspension in all Activas. The front forks are fixed on a new 12-inch front wheel which might give it a composed ride quality. The rear, however, gets the same 10-inch wheel but now, Activa 6G gets 3-way adjustable rear mono-shock which was previously non-adjustable in the 5G.
| Specs | Honda 6G | Honda 5G |
| Engine | 109.51 cc BS6 compliant air-cooled with fuel injection | 109.19 cc BS4 compliant carburetted air-cooled |
| Power | 7.79 Ps @ 8000 rpm | 7.96 Ps @ 7500 rpm |
| Torque | 8.75 @ 5250 rpm | 9 Nm @ 5500 rpm |
| Bore X Stroke | 47mm X 63.1mm | 50mm X 55.6mm |
Now, let's come to the talking part, the 110 cc air-cooled motor on Activa 6G makes slightly less power at 7.79 ps and fractionally lower torque at 8.75 Nm. Although both the power and torque figures are less than the 5G, the 6G gets fuel injection rather than a carburettor and fuel economy gets bumped up by about 10%. Honda also claims better bottom and mid-range power than the 5G - this is mainly down to usage of eFi.

Honda has also chucked in some advanced technology to make the experience even better. Engine start switch now also doubles up as a kill switch, the ACG (Alternating Current Generator) not only flows the current to charge the battery but also replaces the starter motor and starts the engine jolt-free.

The efficient utilisation of decompression with slightly opened exhaust valves (at the beginning of compression stroke) is followed by the Swing Back feature that rotates the engine in a slightly opposite direction. This, in turn, allows the piston to take a running start, thus making it easier to start the engine with a small amount of power.
| Price | Activa 6G | Activa 5G |
| STD | Rs 63,912 | Rs 55,934 |
| DLX | Rs 65,412 | Rs 57,799 |
The price revision leads to a price bump of around 7000-8000 Rs which is definitely worth it with lots of new features, BS6 compliance and better fuel economy. All in all, if you consider Activa 6G vs Activa 5G, then the former is a worthy upgrade and proves itself better than the predecessor. For the additional price, we get a telescopic front suspension, Fuel injection, 12-inch front wheel and longer foot space and wheelbase.
