Hyundai Motor India Introduces 'Samarth' - Driving Inclusivity For Persons With Disabilities In India

With a recognition of the 26.8 million differently-abled individuals in India, Hyundai has taken a pioneering step by introducing 'Samarth,' marking the country's first widespread inclusive mobility initiative. Hyundai Motor India aims to cultivate awareness by collaborating with NGOs, and media networks, and transforming its dealerships into more inclusive spaces. 'Samarth' envisions levelling the playing field for all through technology, partnerships, product innovations, and compelling storytelling.

Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India, is joining forces with GoSports Foundation to launch an exclusive program supporting para-athletes in both team and individual sports. This initiative seeks to foster inclusivity, cultivate innovation, and make a meaningful impact on the para-sports ecosystem, inspiring the nation.

Additionally, HMIF is teaming up with the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled to provide support to differently-abled individuals through assistive devices. Collaborating with Samarthanam, HMIF is set to utilize blind cricket as a platform for the physical and social development of visually impaired individuals in India. This partnership will include organizing training camps for grassroots and national-level visually impaired cricketers, as well as international bilateral series for the national Blind cricket team, offering them larger platforms to showcase their talents.

Hyundai is taking big steps to be more inclusive. They're making changes inside the company to help differently-abled people. They also promise that all their stores and workshops will be wheelchair accessible by February 2024. Hyundai is even working on Swivel Seats and accessories with MOBIS to make their cars more friendly for differently-abled individuals. This shows Hyundai's commitment to raising awareness, being inclusive, and empowering people with disabilities in all aspects of life, aligning with its global vision of Progress for Humanity.

Verdict

Hyundai's 'Samarth' initiative is a great move to make society more inclusive and caring. They're doing a lot, like helping para athletes and making both online and offline spaces accessible. By working on Swivel Seats and accessories, Hyundai is showing they care about making things comfortable for differently-abled passengers. This effort not only makes customers happy but also sets an example for other industries to be more inclusive.
