Jeep India has recently introduced the 2023 Jeep Compass with an aim to diversify according to the needs of the market. Building on the same foundation, the prices of select variants have been slashed. Not only this but a variant rijig has also been introduced to bridge the gap between trims while offering more flexibility to the buyers.

The Jeep Compass lineup in India has undergone some changes in terms of pricing and variants. The entry-level Jeep Compass Sport MT has seen a significant price reduction of Rs. 1.24 lakh, bringing its price down to Rs. 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Similarly, the Model S(O) variant is now more affordable by Rs. 23,000, with a new price of Rs. 27.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In addition to these adjustments, Jeep has discontinued the Limited (O) 4x4 AT version in the Compass range. As part of their recent offerings, Jeep introduced 2WD diesel AT versions in the form of the Black Shark Editions, with prices starting at Rs. 23.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Black Shark Edition Launched
The Jeep Compass Black Shark is based on the Limited trim level. Full LED reflector headlights, LED fog lights, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch TFT touchscreen infotainment panel running Uconnect 5 UI, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and more are among the features and creature comforts. Only the Model S has LED projector headlights and a completely computerized 10.25-inch instrument display.
The new edition is built on the Limited trim level and comes equipped with features like full LED reflector headlights, LED fog lights, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch TFT touchscreen infotainment system with Uconnect 5 UI, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay support, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and more. The Model S variant additionally offers LED projector headlights and a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument display.
Powertrain
Jeep offers a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine in this 2WD variant, which generates 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. The automatic transmission is a nine-speed gearbox, similar to what's available in the higher 4WD AT versions. Jeep claims a 0-100kmph acceleration time of 9.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest in its class. The diesel automatic is reported to have a fuel efficiency of 16.2 kmpl.
Verdict
With the updated Jeep Compass comes some more changes. The prices have taken a dip and also the variant have been rearranged.
