Kawasaki Versys 1100: Powerful New Engine

At the heart of the MY26 Versys 1100 lies a newly developed 1,099cc liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine, tuned to deliver 135 PS at 9,000 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 7,600 rpm. This motor replaces the outgoing 1,043cc unit, bringing improvements in both mid-range torque and fuel efficiency.

Kawasaki engineers have optimized the gear ratios - particularly the 5th and 6th gears - to ensure smoother cruising and better fuel economy during long-distance rides. The characteristic inline-four sound, now enhanced with a more pronounced exhaust note, adds to the bike's emotional appeal.

Kawasaki Versys 1100: Refined Ride and Touring Comfort

Kawasaki Versys 1100

True to its "Versatile System" name, the Versys 1100 has been designed to conquer rough city roads and endless highways with ease. The aluminium twin-tube frame contributes to a rigid yet lightweight structure. The long-travel suspension setup, consisting of a 43mm adjustable inverted front fork and a horizontally mounted rear shock with preload adjustability, helps the bike glide over uneven surfaces.

For braking duties, Kawasaki has equipped the Versys 1100 with 310mm dual front discs paired with radial-mount monobloc calipers and a larger 260mm rear disc, assisted by KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System) for precise braking control.

Advanced Electronics and Rider Aids

Kawasaki's flagship adventure tourer comes packed with a comprehensive suite of electronics. The KCMF (Kawasaki Cornering Management Function) monitors engine and chassis parameters in real-time to maintain stability through corners, while KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) offers three selectable modes to suit varying road conditions.

Riders also get Electronic Cruise Control, Power Mode Selection (Full and Low), and KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter) - available as an accessory for clutchless upshifts and downshifts. Complementing these systems is a negative LCD instrument cluster, which displays information such as bank angle, fuel efficiency, gear position, and range in a high-contrast layout.

Kawasaki has added several practical upgrades aimed at long-haul comfort. The adjustable windshield offers a 65mm range and can be modified easily without tools. A handlebar-mounted USB Type-C port and 12V DC socket provide convenient power options for electronic devices on the move. The riding ergonomics remain upright and natural, ensuring reduced fatigue during extended journeys.

Design and Appearance

The MY26 Versys 1100 debuts in an elegant Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray and Metallic Diablo Black paint scheme. The muscular bodywork, wide fairings, and aerodynamically sculpted cowls give the motorcycle a premium and imposing stance. Despite its size, Kawasaki claims the new model maintains excellent balance and maneuverability.
