Kia Motors India has tasted big success with the Seltos as that marked its presence in top 10 cars in India. After the massive success of the Kia Seltos and popular Kia Carnival, Kia has launched the all-new Kia Sonet and the price of the same starts from Rs 6.71 lakh and goes to Rs 11.99 lakh ex-showroom.

We have already driven the Kia Sonet and we were stunned with the sheer amount of features the Sonet offers. Kia has really nailed the pricing of the Sonet and it will attract a lot of buyers with its pricing. Kia will offer the Sonet in two styling lines - GT Line and Tech Line. The GT Line will be the one to boast all the premium features like drive and traction modes, front parking sensors etc. Kia Motors India aims to crack the 1,00,000 sales milestone with the Sonet in the first year itself.

With the four power train options in place, Kia India hasn't offered the diesel AT in the top HTX, HTX+ and GTX+ trims. The diesel AT is only available with the HTK+ and has been priced at Rs 10.39 lakh. The 1.5-litre diesel MT is available throughout the trim levels ranging from HTE at Rs 8.05 lakh to GTX+ at Rs 11.99 lakh ex-showroom. Talking about the petrol engines, we have two engines with the Sonet. A 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which is offered in three trims - HTE at Rs 6.71 lakh, HTK at Rs 7.59 lakh and HTK+ at Rs 8.45 lakh ex-showroom.

Talking about the 1.0-litre T_GDI petrol engine, it is offered with two transmission options - iMT and DCT. The 1.0-litre DCT is only offered in HTK+ trim as of now whereas the iMT is offered in all trim levels. The price of the Kia Sonet 1.0 DCT is 10.49 lakh and the iMT ranges from Rs 9.49 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh. It is assumed that Kia will announce the price of top-spec automatic trims at a later date.

With the best in segment features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, smart air purifier, BOSE sound system etc, Kia has a winner in its hands. The pricing of the Kia Sonet is very attractive and it also undercuts its sibling, the Hyundai Venue by quite a margin. However, the top trims of the Kia Sonet are priced at a premium over the Hyundai Venue.
