LML Registered Star & Hyperbike Trademarks, Launch Soon?

LML is all set to re-enter the Indian market. The company, formerly recognised for its ICE-powered scooters, now intends to enter the electric two-wheeler industry. The company has trademarked two names for its future electric two-wheelers ahead of the debut. The brand has trademarked the name "Star," thus that will be the name of the new electric scooter. The company appears to be working on an electric motorcycle as well; the name "Hyperbike" has been patented for a future electric bike. The Hyperbike is said to be an electric motorcycle, although the real production names might not be made public until the day of the introduction.

LML has already committed to investing nearly Rs 1,000 crore over the next three to five years. The brand will benefit from this investment as it enters the market for electric two-wheelers. Additionally, LML has entered into a partnership with the Italian company SPM Engineering and the German EV brand eROCKIT AG. The upcoming LML EVs will be built with parts and technology from eROCKIT AG and the designed by SPM Engineering.

The Indian market for electric two-wheelers already has a large number of manufacturers, including several well-known brands. For the already established players as well as for LML, the return of an iconic two-wheeler brand in the electric two-wheeler market will be a challenge. Ola Electric, Hero Electric, TVS Electric's iQube electric scooter, and other manufacturers of electric two-wheelers will be the primary rivals of the future LML scooters.
