Mahindra Thar Roxx Teased: Front-End Officially Revealed

The five-door Thar, now known as the Mahindra Thar Roxx, might possibly be one of the most awaited cars in the market. The Indian SUV maker has been drip-feeding us small details here and there with its teasers. Now, shortly before its global premiere, Mahindra has officially revealed the front-end of the car. Mahindra Thar Roxx - Front-end officially revealed

The grille of the Mahindra Thar will remain a controversial topic, for reasons we will not be discussing here. In order to differentiate the Thar Roxx, Mahindra has given it a six-slat grille with split treatment in the middle. The front bumper receives a slight redesign, with a small part now connecting to the fog lamps, and the DRL on the front fender also appears to have slimmed down. The halogen headlamps from the three-door have not been carried over, with the Thar Roxx receiving projector headlamps instead.

Revised profile, fully hard-top

For further differentiation, the rear door handle of the Thar Roxx is hidden in the C-pillar, and the rear quarter-glass is angular in shape. The Thar Roxx also gets dual-tone alloy rims. At the rear, the tail-lamps receive slight tweaks in terms of the new DRL signatures, and we can expect a new cover for the stepney as well. 

Interiors and equipment

Keen observers will notice that the Mahindra Thar Roxx gets a mixture of black and white in its interiors, with the interiors receiving black treatment with gold stitching, and slightly different A/C vents, while the seats get white upholstery. In terms of features, the Mahindra Thar Roxx comes packing with a Harman Kardon sound system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment display, push-button start, panoramic sunroof (conventional unit possible in the lower variants), and multiple terrain modes among many other things.

The Thar Roxx is also set to get crawl speed assist which will allow the driver to move the car at lower speeds without inputs, and intell-turn assist which will help drivers take tighter U-turns should the situation demand it.
