All You Need To Know About The MG6 Sedan Facelift; India Launch In 2021?

MG Motor India made its debut with the Hector in 2019 and in January 2020, they brought in a premium electric SUV, ZS EV. Both SUVs are doing good in terms of sales and are rich in features and technologies. And knowing that Indians have a growing interests towards SUVs, they will keep on the trend. But that does not hinder us from giving you an insight into their sedan, MG6 which is soon getting a facelift.

MG6 facelift is basically dependent on the sportier appeal and an upgraded engine for the Chinese markets. And if all goes well, then the premium sedan is likely to make its India debut in 2021. In the recent 2020 Auto Expo, MG showcased a variety of products ranging from electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and shared futuristic technologies.

MG6 Facelift India

Sharing more details on the MG6 facelift then the front profile receives redesigned bumper with a darker honeycombed grille. It will also get tweaked headlights (top-spec versions likely to receive LED treatment) and the size of the MG logo will be larger than before. The front sure looks intimidating.

The side profile will more or less remain the same and it is the rear which receives a piece of updates. Notice the new bumper design with two large circular exhausts at the bottom and a creased bootlid. The taillights are reworked and get LED treatment. The design of the sedan looks subtle from behind.

Under the hood, the MG6 sedan gets a powerful 1.5L petrol engine which now produces 178 bhp, 12 bhp more than the previous unit. The claimed top speed is 210 km/h and the average mileage is stated at 16 km/l. There is no official news that whether the 1.0 gasoline engine will be discontinued or not.

MG6 fastback does comes with a long list of optional exterior features like electric sunroof, a rear wing, shark fin antenna, accented door trim pieces and more. The fastback can also be had in a much sharper look with the front grille, window decor and trunk lid receiving a blacked-out treatment. As of now, there is no official launch as when this car will be launched but the leaked images show this is a production-ready model.
