Two units of the Peugeot 2008 SUV, one each in a shade of red and orange have been spotted several times on Indian roads. The test mules aren't camouflaged but strangely, the logos and model names are hidden. Our reader also sent a long video today which was taken in NCR itself. So is the brand making a comeback? For the uninitiated, Peugeot and Citroen are part of the PSA group. Citroen already has a base in India and in all probability, they are using the Peugeot 2008 SUV to test engines and other components. This is a common practice that is done by several automobile groups worldwide. Our reader (who sent us the video) told us that he could hear the typical 3 cylinder sound when the 2008 accelerated from a stand still. This means Citroen is testing the 1.2 turbo petrol unit that generates 130 bhp in the 2008 that is sold internationally. This unit could make it to India in the future products.

So while this mid-size SUV looks good and promising, chances are, it won't make it to Indian showrooms.
