Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 To Get Costlier?

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

In typical Royal Enfield fashion, the new Himalayan 450 was launched with an introductory price scheme. So, the first batch of customers who booked it online or offline are getting the benefit of the lowest prices. The bike was launched at Rs 2.69 lakh, while the top variant of it costs Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, the ADV is soon going to get its first-ever price hike. The introductory price of the bike will end on December 31. Hence, the customers who've booked it can change the colour option before this date. From January 1, the new Himalayan 450 will undergo a price revision.

Not to mention, the price hike will be marginal, but it'll surely affect new customers. Also, as per Royal Enfield, the response for the new Himalayan is very good. The bike now has a refreshed design with LED lights and new features like a digital instrument console with Google Maps integration. The most radical change is the new Sherpa 450 liquid-cooled engine. It now gets more top-end and more power for better highway cruising. Additionally, the new 6-speed transmission gets a slipper clutch as standard. The bike is available in three variants, whose prices change depending on the colour chosen. Sadly, there is still no option for the tubeless spoke rims on the Indian version.

Verdict

The new Himalayan 450 offers a better build quality, more capable machinery for off-road, and better engine with more power. However, it has now become costlier to own than before. With the new price hike from 2024, the Himalayan will become one of the costliest bikes from the company's portfolio.
