Hi, I'm Tejen. I was born and brought up in a small town of Haryana. However, from the day of my birth and until now, I've always lived around cars and motorcycles. More than passion, the automotive world is my only lifestyle. It's the connection to the vehicle that delivers me peace. However, when it comes to a choice; my instinct leads me towards motorcycles.

The cult motorcycle manufacturer has removed the tripper navigation pod from the instrument console of both the bikes. This navigation pod was a standard fitment over both the motorcycles. Now, the new customers will not get this as a standard fitment, but it'll be available only via order. This is a plug-and-play unit and Royal Enfield has already listed this option on its MiY (Make It Yours) RE mobile phone application. The tripper navigation helps the rider to navigate via turn-by-turn navigation through Bluetooth connectivity.

The reason behind this removal of tripper navigation has been certified as the semiconductor chip shortage. In its latest statement regarding the price slash, Royal Enfield made it clear about the hip shortage. The chip shortage problem has become a do-or-die situation for many manufacturers. To keep the waiting periods sane, manufacturers are tying up with new vendors, or cutting off equipment lists from the products. From Mahindra, Tata to Royal Enfield, every maker is facing issues of long waiting periods. This optional tripper navigation will help the company to reduce the waiting periods for Meteor which have already reached up to 8 months in some cities. The decision of this price deduction has come into effect from May 1.

Along with this, Royal Enfield has also increased the minimum booking amount via the RE phone app. Previously, the prospective owners could book their Royal Enfield via the RE app by paying a booking sum of Rs 10,000. This booking amount is increased up to Rs 20,000 for the new customers who book via the online app. For customers visiting showrooms, the booking amount and process remain the same as previous.
