Skoda Auto has finally launched its first electric SUV, the Elroq EV. The electric SUV has arrived in India at a price tag of Rs. Based on Skoda's pure electric MEB Platform, the Elroq EV has been positioned below the upcoming Enyaq E-SUV. The Elroq EV is the first car to feature the Skoda's new "Modern Solid" design language. Skoda Elroq SUV: Design and Features
As mentioned above, the Elroq follows the brand's new 'Modern Solid' design. It gets a sharp front end with boomerang-shaped matrix LED headlamps and sleek LED DRLs. The new front design is called Tech-Deck Face by the brand. Other new design elements include a new Skoda logo finished in dark chrome. Coming at the rear, you get a roof spoiler and LED tail lights. Debuted in Timiano Green colour, the Skoda's new E-SUV gets dark chrome accents all around the body, a 2D Skoda logo on the alloy wheels and central-positioned lettering as well.
In terms of features, the Elroq SUV features a 13-inch infotainment system as standard. On the safety front, it has up to nine airbags and assistance systems which makes your journey safe. The company has used various sustainable materials inside the cabin. Additionally, there is 470 litres of boot space which can be increased to 1580 litres by folding the second-row seats.
Skoda Elroq SUV: Powertrain
As far as the powertrain is concerned, the Elroq E-SUV is available in three powertrain options. These include 50 kWh, 60 kWh, 85 kWh options. The 50 kWh option comes mated to a single motor that generates 170 hp and provides a driving range of 370 km. On the other hand, the 60 kWh variant generates 204 bhp while the top-end 85 variant model gets 77 kWh and generates 285 bhp.
Skoda Elroq Price and India Launch Details
The Elroq SUV has been launched globally with a starting price of Rs. 33,000 Euros (nearly Rs. 30.66 lakh). However, it is confirmed that the Elroq -SUV will make its way to India, but the timeline is still unclear. Before the Elroq EV, Skoda will launch the Kylaq SUV in India and will lock horns with the Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite and Tata Nexon. The Elroq EV is expected to arrive in India in the next year as it is a part of the brand's five-year plan.
