SURPRISE! Toyota Reveals 15 Upcoming Electric Vehicle Concepts

According to reports, Toyota Motors is planning to attain carbon neutrality by 2035 and is now focussing on selling 3.5 million electric vehicles by 2030. Unveiling as many as 15 electric vehicle concepts, the company is planning to transform the future of the Japanese automobile industry.

Though the Japanese carmakers are late to make their entry into the electric car market, the President has revealed 15 zero-emission concepts pertaining to Toyota and Lexus brand as he is targeting to launch 30 new electric vehicles by 2030. The unveiled concepts are not built on a single or same body type as they will be used for multiple applications.

The vehicles showcased includes SUVs, off-roaders, commercial vehicles, and to top them all is an electric supercar that takes inspiration from the legendary LFA. Toyota and Lexus are expecting a combined EV sales of 3.5 million units by 2030 which is 1.5 million more than before. The companies are ready to introduce the concept of carbon neutrality by the middle of the next decade.

Among the concepts revealed, these electric vehicles are bZ badged that will follow bZAX SUV, Aygo X influenced SUVs, small affordable SUV, full-size SUV, and a sedan. Targeting all sorts of markets, the company desires to appeal to a larger range of customers worldwide and also showcases small commercial electric vehicles, pickup trucks, two sportscar, and off-roading vehicles as well.

According to Akio Toyoda, Toyota Motor Corporation, Some of the upcoming BEVs will be based on the existing models as the similarities to the Hilux pickup truck and Lexus NX can be clearly seen. But other models will be underpinned by the dedicated e-TNGA EV architecture developed in partnership with Subaru. In developed markets like the US, China, and Europe, Lexus will also introduce EVs in all segments by 2030.

By 2035 the luxury car market of Toyota will offer a completely new range of electric vehicles that will dismiss internal combustion engines. As 2022 is about to come, Lexus is ready to bring a bespoke RZ crossover that sits on e-TNGA as the upcoming bZ4X followed by an electric sports car.
