Toyota is soon going to roll out its second product from its joint venture with Suzuki. The first product we saw was the Toyota Glanza and that was launched in June 2019. Now Toyota is coming with the 'Urban Cruiser' and that will essentially be a rebadged Maruti Vitara Brezza. According to our dealership sources, Toyota is expected to start taking bookings for the Urban Cruiser in August.
Toyota has been working on the Urban Cruiser for a while now and the launch is expected near the festive season. Toyota Urban Cruiser will be a rebadged Vitara Brezza and it will be manufactured on the same production line as well. Unlike the Toyota Glanza, the Urban Cruiser will be differentiated by tweaked bumpers and lights. The front will get a big chrome grille along with LED headlights and both the front and rear bumpers will be changed too.

The interiors of the Urban Cruiser will be similar but we can expect light shade interiors with the dual-tone dashboard. The space on the inside will be exactly identical to the Vitara Brezza and the dimensions are expected to be same too. The engine will be the same 1.5-litre petrol engine which will produce 105 PS and 138 Nm of torque. The engine will come paired with either 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox.

The only rejigging we expect in the mechanical part is the mild hybrid addition. Maruti only offers the mild-hybrid tech with automatic trims of the Brezza. However, Toyota can also slot the mild-hybrid tech in manual trims of the Urban Cruiser as well. Just like with the Glanza, Toyota is expected to price the Urban Cruiser lower than the Vitara Brezza which will attract prospective buyers. The bookings of the Toyota Urban Cruiser are expected to start in August whereas the launch is expected near the festive season.
