Toyota Vellfire India Launch on 26th February; To Rival The V-class

We have heard a lot about the Vellfire till now, it was in the news headlines even before Kia announced to launch the Carnival in India and look, they have already launched it. Finally, we have the launch date of the Vellfire which is 26th February.

The luxury MPV segment kickstarted when Mercedes Benz brought their V-class in our market, then we saw the Carnival in its full glory and now recently, MG Motor also announced their entrant in this segment- the G10 MPV. Toyota has now finally revealed the launch date of the Vellfire MPV. Unlike the V-class and the Carnival, it is going to be a petrol hybrid.

Toyota Vellfire

Powering the Toyota Vellfire will be a 2.5-litre petrol engine solely producing 150 Hp. It comes assisted with two electric motors, one on each front axle giving an additional boost. The total power figure counts 197 Hp and it comes paired with a CVT gearbox. The engine power solely goes to the front wheels, but the Vellfire also comes with a 50 kW rear electric motor which assists the rear wheels in case of low traction or at instant power demand, making it an electric part-time AWD.

Well, you will be very wrong if you compare it with the Kia carnival as it will be available with executive 7 seat configuration sporting lounge seats for the middle row. The expected price of the Vellfire is near 85-90 lakhs ex-showroom and it will be CBU import. Toyota Vellfire will be loaded to the brim with features like electrically adjustable and reclinable ventilated lounge seats, two sunroofs, three-zone automatic climate control, foldable tables, powered sliding doors and tailgate, mood lighting and seven airbags.

Toyota Vellfire

It is obvious that it will be targeted to travel agencies and luxury hotels for the luxury commuting. At this price point, it will be left out with only a single rival- Mercedes V-class.
