Upcoming Hyundai Bayon Design Details Revealed

Upcoming Hyundai Bayon Design Details Revealed

The design details of the upcoming Hyundai Bayon are out, though only for the exterior part. Hyundai India on their YouTube channel posted three videos, each one focusing on one specific aspect of the car: alloy wheels, LED DRLs at the front, and taillights. Before all this, Bayon was also seen testing on roads, where it was figured that this car will have a crossover shape rather than a typical mid-size SUV design with higher ground clearance and a wide-flat bonnet. But now the new details have emerged, and we need to talk about them.

Alloy Wheel Design

It is fair to call these short videos teasers, as they focus primarily on the car's core design elements: the alloy wheels, LED DRLs, and LED tail lamps. Starting with the DRLs, they curve into an inverted L-shape at the edge. Next in the line-up are the alloy wheels, a 17-inch dual-tone unit with thick cladding on the outer part. Plastic cladding and a front parking sensor are also visible on the side, which suggests the car will get a 360-degree parking camera, or what Hyundai likes to call a surround view monitor.

On to the rear profile, the Hyundai Bayon is seen with inverted L-shaped taillights, which, if you are into performance cars, will remind you of the Lamborghini Urus, as the overall shape resembles a lot of the Italian super-SUV. Also, an important thing to note here is that it doesn't have a connected light setup but a black strip that adds a premium touch. Lastly, the rear wiper is also seen, plus the blacked-out C-pillar.

Hyundai Bayon Engine Details

Hyundai Bayon's length is going to be above 4 meters, so it will be put in the mid-size SUV segment, where Hyundai Creta has set benchmarks. So, most likely they'll share engines, so we can expect a 1.5L MPi naturally aspirated engine or a 1.0L turbo engine. As this car will be positioned between the Venue and the Creta, it's expected to cost somewhere around 8.5 lakh to 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Lastly, the 1.5L diesel engine will join the list, as even Venue gets it, so why not the Bayon?

End Note

The Hyundai Bayon is a crossover styled to look like an SUV, and it's expected to sit between the Venue and the Creta. On the powertrain front, it's likely to carry the familiar 1.5 L MPi petrol and 1.5 L diesel options. What remains to be seen is which turbo petrol engine it gets. Since the car will be longer than 4 meters, the 1.5-litre turbo petrol would technically make more sense, though there's also a good chance Hyundai will add the familiar 1.0-litre turbo instead. Interesting times ahead. To stay updated on everything Bayon-related, keep following 91Wheels.
