Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) is soon going to launch a new scooter in India. This upcoming scooter has been teased once again now. Upcoming Honda Scooter TFT Screen
As visible in the latest teaser video, the scooter will get a TFT display. This TFT display has a blue-lit backscreen with white lettering. Additionally, there is a tachometer on the right side which indicates that it'll be a sporty scooter. While there aren't many scooters in the sports category; the niche market is good in India. Hence, the possibility suggests to us that it might be a bigger 160cc scooter. On the left top of the screen, a side stand warning is also displayed which hints that this scooter will get all the latest features from Honda. The only scooter in this category is the Yamaha Aerox 155.
Moreover, Honda has teased the colour scheme of this scooter. As seen in the video, it will feature a combination of a dual-tone paint scheme. The mix of blue & grey colours will get the yellow graphic highlight on it. However, it won't be the only colour but yes it does give us a rough idea of what to expect. Additionally, there is the use of carbon fibre stickers in some parts as well. Meanwhile, the exhaust note has been shared in this teaser video. It boasts a very raspier and heavy exhaust sound which means it'll get a big engine. We suspect that it'll be offered with at least a 125cc engine. However, the details hint towards a bigger or possibly a 160cc scooter.
Verdict
HMSI seems to be interested in the maxi scooter market of India. While there are no volume sales substantially, the maxi scooter category of India has a good appeal to it. Hence, entering into such a niche market will be a beneficial move for HMSI. We susepct that this new scooter will get launched in the coming days. Pricing can be dicy to judge due to the absence of details.
