Upcoming Skoda Rapid BS6

If we talk about the Skoda Rapid BS6, then it will be a petrol-only offering like all the other Skoda and Volkswagen cars post BS6 which is now applicable. Skoda and Volkswagen, now under the same entity in India, have confirmed that they will not invest in diesel engines unless they see a legit demand and market for them. What Rapid BS6 will get is a 1.0-liter TSI turbo petrol engine which will produce an impressive 115 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque and this motor will replace the old 1.6 MPI unit which used to produce 100 PS. The 1.0-litre TSI motor will be paired with both a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG gearbox.

Skoda Rapid Facelift Unveiled Globally Last Year

Skoda will offer 3 engines in the BS6 era, one is the 1.0-litre TSI in Rapid, 1.5-litre TSI which will power the Karoq and 2.0-litre TSI turbo which will power the Kodiaq and upcoming Octavia and Superb. There will be no big visual changes on the Skoda Rapid BS6, it will get the same design language we have been seeing till now. The front will get a signature Skoda logo with blacked-out headlamps with integrated DRLs. The side and rear profile will also remain the same but Skoda might give it some small design changes to make it look a tad fresher.

The interior layout will also remain the same but we expect a bigger and better touchscreen system with both Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Nothing more is expected from the new BS6 iteration. This will help the Rapid to get a boost in sales till the time we get the Skoda Rapid facelift which was unveiled internationally last year.
