VinFast VF MPV 7: What We Know So Far

VinFast is set to enter the Indian electric MPV space with the upcoming VF MPV 7, targeting buyers who need a practical, spacious, and efficient family car. Exterior

The VF MPV 7 features a clean and functional design that prioritizes practicality over flashiness. It has a tall stance, a large window area, and a simple front fascia with sleek LED DRLs in a split headlamp setup, while the projector LED headlamps are positioned below the DRLs. The proportions are clearly optimized for interior space, giving it a purposeful look that aligns well with its family-focused positioning.

It also features a straight window line, a chrome-accented window beltline, traditional door handles, a charging port on the left side (as seen on the international version), and 19-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the MPV boasts a connected light bar and a minimalist tailgate with bold, prominent badging.

Interior

Inside, the MPV offers a spacious three-row cabin with a seven-seater layout. The flat floor enhances legroom and makes moving between rows effortless. Large windows create an airy and comfortable atmosphere, while leatherette seats and tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel to add overall comfort and convenience.

The dashboard showcases a minimalist design with a clean layout. Safety is well-covered with six airbags, an electric parking brake, ABS with EBD, brake assist, TCS, hill-start assist, and all-4 disc brakes, making it a well-rounded interior for both comfort and protection on long journeys.

Powertrain

The VF MPV 7 will likely be powered by a single electric motor producing around 200 HP and 280 Nm of torque, paired with a 60 kWh LFP battery pack. It is expected to deliver a claimed range of about 450 km (NEDC), focusing on efficiency and smooth performance. It also has three drive modes like eco, normal and sports. The model will also support DC fast charging up to 80 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 70 percent in approximately 30 minutes. 

Features

The VF MPV 7 is expected to offer a practical and user-friendly feature set. This includes a 10.1-inch central infotainment screen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, and Type-A and Type-C USB charging ports. Other features include single-zone automatic climate control and steering-mounted controls. The overall focus is on convenience and ease of use rather than luxury.

Expected Price & Rivals

In India, the VF MPV 7 is expected to be priced between Rs. 19 lakh and Rs. 24 lakh, which could make it a competitive offering in the electric MPV segment if positioned aggressively. Once launched, the VF MPV 7 will compete with models like the Kia Carens Clavis EV and the BYD eMAX 7. These rivals may offer stronger brand recall and wider service networks, but the MPV 7 could attract attention with its electric credentials and value-focused approach.
