Yamaha FZ25 BS6 launched in India with a price hike

Yamaha has launched the BS6 compliant FZ25 in the Indian market before the deadline of 31st March 2020. The new FZ25 BS6 is yet to get a price tag but it will go on sale in the Indian market before the implementation of the BS6 norms. The brand has also introduced the range-topping FZS 25. Yamaha has also announced that there will be new colours available with the upcoming BS6 compliant version of the bike.

The cosmetic updates in the 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 include a newly designed headlamp cluster that gets a bi-functional feature. It still gets all-LED lamps. The bike also gets a negative LCD display for the instrument cluster, which makes it easier to read out under the direct sunlight. There are underbelly cowl and side-stand engine cut-off features too. Apart from that, the muscular DNA of the bike remains the same. It will be available in two colour options - Metallic Black and Racing Blue. The new Yamaha FZS 25 will be offered in Dark Cyan, Dark Blue and Metallic White paint schemes. There will be golden alloy wheels available with the Dark Cyan and the Dark Blue options.

Speaking on the occasion, Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India said, "Yamaha is determined to provide exciting two-wheeler experiences to the Indian customers, the one that has earned it a name to reckon with in the whole world. The Unique Style of Yamaha is well-crafted in all the current line up from the company. While the new FZ25 BS6 will command street adventure with a new heart revving experience, the company's objective to set the global racing excitement into Indian roads will close into a proportionate wholeness. In future, the company will look forward to bring more excitement on board as a part of its brand commitment in India."

The bike remains powered by the same 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is upgraded to meet the BS6 emission norms. It generates a maximum power of 20.6 Bhp and peak torque of 20.1 Nm. There is a five-speed transmission. Everything else including the forks, monoshock, disc brakes and the dual-channel ABS remain the same.
