We all love to ride fast motorcycles. However, different motorcycles are meant to ride differently and also at different places. The biking culture is getting very popular in India. People now buy even litre-class motorcycles to ride in action. If we talk about litre-class offerings, we have quite a lot of them from Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, etc. These high-end motorcycles are seriously fast and are truly meant to be ridden on track. However, people ride them on city roads too and there are some idiots who ride at very high speeds in the city. Here is an example from Bengaluru. Below is a video that shows that a Yamaha R1 is speeding at 299 kmph in Bengaluru and that too during the lockdown.
The video was originally posted by the rider on his Instagram account on July 5, 2020. So far, this video has been viewed by more than 9,000 viewers on the social media platform. However, the Instagram account has now been made private and so you cannot watch the original content. The same video was uploaded by Mr Sandeep Patel, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Bengaluru City Police. Mr Patel captioned, This video made viral by the rider, going at a dangerous speed of almost 300 kmph at Ecity flyover putting his own & others life at risk. CCB traced the rider & seized bike Yamaha 1000 CC, handed over to traffic.

Talking about the incident, so the rider was riding his Yamaha R1 superbike at absolutely insane speeds on the roads of the Bengaluru city. As you can clearly see in the embedded video above that the rider was filtering through traffic, zipping from one lane to another and was riding crazily. Most of the time, the motorcycle was above 200 kmph and he also touched 299 kmph on his motorcycle which is the electronically limited top of this superbike. The rider was riding at such high speeds on the Electronic City Flyover of Bengaluru. He posted the video on his Instagram account and it went viral.

The Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) has already arrested the person and his Yamaha R1 superbike has been confiscated. The CCB Police have also registered a case against him and handed it over to the Bengaluru Traffic Police for further investigation. According to the cops, upon investigation, it was found that the man had posted similar videos in the past too. However, it isn't disclosed yet that what charges will be levied against the rider. This high-speed motoring act on public roads is not only dangerous for him but for other motorists and pedestrians too. We highly condemn such activities.

Talking about the Yamaha R1, so this superbike is powered by a 998cc, parallel four-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine. This monstrous motor churns out a whopping 200 PS of power at 13,500 RPM and 112 Nm of torque at 11,500 RPM. The engine comes coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It features a ton of electronics which include a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Quickshift System (QSS), Wheelie Control System (WCS), Lift Control System (LCS), Slide Control System (SCS), Traction Control System (TCS), Launch Control System (LCS) and many more. The Yamaha R1 is currently priced in India at Rs. 20.39 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
