XUV 7X0 Highlights
On Target
Mahindra's most feature-packed mid-size SUV yet, aimed at buyers who want maximum tech, space, and road presence without stepping into luxury-brand pricing.
What We Like
Bold and modern design, powerful petrol and diesel engine options, available AWD, feature-loaded cabin with triple-screen layout, ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS, and strong safety credentials.
What We Don't Like
Large size can feel cumbersome in city traffic, fuel efficiency isn't class-leading, lower variants miss out on key features, and long waiting periods could be an issue initially.

Should I buy the XUV 7X0?
For buyers seeking a truly best-in-class experience, the XUV 7X0 stands out with its segment-leading technology and a feature set developed specifically for it. Add to that powerful, refined engines and a premium road presence, and it shapes up as a strong all-round, A-grade package worth considering.
- The facelifted design feels as if Mahindra’s designers took cues from AI, giving the evergreen XUV700 a more trend-focused treatment with extensive use of gloss black and more muscular-looking headlamps. It does come across as younger, but when compared to the outgoing XUV700, some of the earlier elegance feels diluted. That said, it still manages to draw attention, largely due to its imposing front end dominated by a newly designed headlamp setup and grille finished in gloss black with chrome inserts.
- The bumper now features two LED fog lamps integrated into the silver skid plate, adding another layer of premiumness to the already upmarket XUV badge. From the side profile, the design remains largely unchanged, although it now rides on new 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, which align well with its refreshed, more assertive stance.
- At the rear, the SUV features a new bumper with a silver skid plate and a gloss-black patterned insert, along with prominent XUV 7X0 lettering. While the tail-lamp shape remains unchanged, the internal elements have been reworked with a honeycomb pattern and a darker, blacked-out treatment, giving the rear a fresher look.
XUV 7X0 body specifications:
| Wheel Size | R17, R18 & R19 |
| Seating Capacity | 7 & 6 seaters |
| Ground Clearance | 200 mm |

- The interior design is completely new and aligned with Mahindra’s XEV 9e and XEV 9s. It now features a triple-screen layout - one screen for the front passenger, one for the infotainment system, and one for the driver’s display - spanning a combined width of 31.24 cm in a seamless, coast-to-coast format. Below this, the AC vents mirror the design seen on Mahindra’s electric models. Even the steering wheel follows the same theme, adopting a two-spoke design with dual-tone stitching.
- This model will continue to be offered in multiple seating configurations - 5-seater, 6-seater, and 7-seater. The key new addition is in the 6-seater layout, where the rear captain seats now get ventilation, significantly enhancing the luxury quotient. Additionally, the left rear passenger can adjust the front passenger seat using controls mounted on the right bolster - a feature popularly known as Boss Mode - further elevating rear-seat comfort.
- Features are offered in abundance, including a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, wireless charging, and dual-zone climate control. The SUV also gets BYOD support, rear Type-C charging ports, sunshades, and powered front seats, with the driver’s seat offering a three-position memory function. Safety and convenience are further enhanced by Level 2 ADAS, 540-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, and multi-colour ambient lighting, underlining its premium positioning.
- Mahindra has retained the same powertrain options from the XUV700 for the new XUV 7X0. This means the SUV continues with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing 199 PS and 380 Nm, making it one of the most powerful petrol units in the segment. It is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
- The diesel option is a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel, offered in two states of tune. The lower-spec version delivers 154 PS and 360 Nm, while the higher-spec unit produces 184 PS and 420 Nm with the manual gearbox and 450 Nm with the automatic. Additionally, the diesel variant is available with an AWD option and four drive modes.
