2020 Hero Xtreme 200S BS6 Launched in India; Priced at Rs 1.15 Lakhs - All Details

Hero MotoCorp has today finally launched the new BS6-compliant Hero Xtreme 200S in the Indian market. The Xtreme 200S was first launched in India in May 2019. It is a fully-faired derivative of the (now discontinued) Xtreme 200R. The price of the new 2020 Hero Xtreme 200S BS6 is Rs. 1.15 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. Also, it is one of the most affordable fully-faired motorcycles currently on sale in the Indian market. It rivals against some other semi-faired and fully-faired motorcycles which include the Bajaj Pulsar 180F, Pulsar 220F and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155. Starting with the powertrain, the new Hero Xtreme 200S is powered by a BS6-compliant 199.6cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine (BS4 was air-cooled unit). It also gets Hero's XSens programmed fuel-injection technology that delivers better performance and fuel-efficiency. This new BS6 motor churns out 18.08 PS of power at 8500 RPM (BS4 made 18.4 PS at 8000 RPM) and 16.45 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM (BS4 made 17.1 Nm at 6500 RPM). The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The company says that these new technologies offer better durability, no overheating and better heat exchange.

Apart from the mechanical changes to meet the new BS6 emission norms, the Xtreme 200S BS6 also gets a new Pearl Fadeless White colour variant. So, in total, the Xtreme 200S now gets three colour variants - Panther Black, Sports Red and Pearl Fadeless White. Talking about the other specifications of the motorcycle, for suspension duties, it gets telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock absorber at the rear. The braking duties are performed by 276 mm disc brake at the front and a 220 mm disc unit at the rear and it gets a single-channel ABS too. The new Xtreme 200S also gets an all-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, etc.
