2020 Kawasaki Vulcan S BS6 Launched at Rs 5.79 Lakhs; Most Affordable BS6 Kawasaki in India

Kawasaki India is on a roll. This Premium Japanese bike manufacturer is launching back to back new BS6-compliant motorcycles in the Indian market. The Kawasaki Z650, Ninja 650, Ninja 1000 SX, Vesrsys 650, Versys 1000 and W800 have already been updated to meet the latest BS6 emission norms. Now, the company has launched the new 2020 Kawasaki Vulcan S BS6 in India at Rs. 5.79 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. At present, the new 2020 Vulcan S is the most affordable BS6-compliant Kawasaki on sale in India.

The new 2020 Kawasaki Vulcan S does not get any design changes and the cycle parts are exactly the same as before. However, it now sports a new colour scheme which enhances its appeal. The new Vulcan S gets a single colour option. It is finished in Metallic Flat Raw Graystone colour scheme. Also, it gets red-coloured stripes on the fuel tank, radiator shrouds and red-coloured wheel rim tape. The Vulcan S is a cruiser motorcycle and it has a very relaxed sitting posture and comfortable ergonomics.
Powering the new Vulcan S is a BS6-compliant 649cc, liquid-cooled, eight-valve, four-stroke, parallel-twin engine. This new BS6 motor churns out 61 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 62.4 Nm of peak torque at 6600 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Being a cruiser motorcycle, the Vulcan S delivers smooth acceleration and responsive performance, especially in the low and medium rev bands.

The Vulcan S is based on a perimeter frame. The suspension duties of the motorcycle are handled by 41 mm telescopic front forks and it gets an offset mono-shock absorber at the rear that is preload adjustable and has 80 mm of travel. It runs on radial tubeless tyres. The front tyre measures 120/70 R18 while the rear one measures 160/60 R17. For braking duties, it gets a 300 mm disc at the front with dual-piston callipers and a 250 mm disc at the rear with a single-piston calliper. It also gets dual-channel ABS.
The Kawasaki Vulcan S is a comfortable cruiser and is very accessible too with a low seat height of just 705 mm. The motorcycle has a kerb weight of 235 kilograms and has a 14-litre fuel tank. Talking about other dimensions, so the motorcycle measures 2310 mm in length, 855 mm in width and 1090 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1575 mm and a low ground clearance of 130 mm. It gets a semi-digital semi analogue instrument cluster loaded with all the basic information for the rider, including a gear-position indicator.
