India's most affordable 150+ Bhp car comes in the form of the 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6. The 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6 price starts from Rs 9.49 lakh onwards for the 1.5 naturally aspired petrol engine and Rs 11.84 lakh onwards for the potent 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine. A CVT automatic is being offered with the 1.3 engine and prices for this line-up start at Rs 13.44 lakh. The Nissan Kicks takes on the likes of the Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta.
In terms of design, the 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6 remains unchanged from the previous BS4 model. It continues to look big with an imposing front end and ample road presence. Nissan has taken off the 1.5 diesel from the 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6 line-up and as mentioned above, only the 1.3 and 1.5 petrol will be on sale. Do remember, the segment rivals also offer a 1.4 turbo petrol but it puts out 140 PS as compared to 156 PS on the Kicks.
Commenting on the announcement, Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said As a part of our BS VI upgrade, the new Nissan KICKS 2020 offers the most powerful turbo engine in its segment along with the class leading X-tronic CVT transmission. It further strengthens on our customer centricity with high value proposition offering the NissanConnect Technology, coupled with a complete vehicle package and class-leading premium-ness.
In terms of the new motor, this engine, internally called the HR13 DDT borrows cylinder coating technology from the GTR for enhanced performance & fuel efficiency. Max torque by the way stands at 254 Nm. The engine makes use of Dual Variable Timing system that reduces emissions and provide higher torque at low rpm while the new X-tronic CVT is 40 per cent more efficient than existing CVTs.
The standard warranty on the 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6 will be for 2 years/ 50,000 kms and customers can extend the same to 5 years/ 100,000 kms at an attractive price. Road-Side Assistance subscription is free for 2 years and is available in more than 1500 cities. Nissan will also offer a pre-paid maintenance service package at an attractive price starting, Rs2099 per year.
