Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor are one of the safest compact cars currently on sale in the Indian market. Both these cars have bagged a respectful 4-Star safety rating in the Global NCAP Crash Test. While the Tiago is an entry-level hatchback from Tata Motors, the Tigor is a compact sedan based on the Tiago. In January this year, both these cars got a mid-life facelift update and their BS6 versions were introduced. Now, Tata Motors has reduced the price of the 2020 Tigor BS6 while the price of the Tiago has been hiked.
The new facelifted Tiago and the Tigor are powered by the same mill. Both these cars get a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This petrol motor churns out 86 PS of maximum power at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of peak torque at 3300 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT. Both these entry-level Tata's are fairly equipped with features and they get a fully digital instrument cluster, an eight-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, etc.
The Tiago and the Tigor also get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Talking about safety features, so both of them get dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and Corner Stability Control as standard across all the variants. The top-spec trims of these cars also get a reverse parking camera. Now, finally talking about the new price of these cars. So, Tata Motors has reduced the price of the 2020 Tigor BS6 by up to 36,000 rupees while the price of the Tiago has been hiked by up to 13,000 rupees depending on the variant.
