2020 Triumph Tiger 900 Series Launched in India; Priced From Rs 13.70 Lakhs

Triumph Motorcycles has today finally launched the highly-anticipated Tiger 900 Series Adventure Motorcycles in India. Triumph Tiger 900 Series made its International debut in December 2019 and was about to be launched in India in April this year. However, the launch was postponed owing to the COVID-19 crisis. But, Adventure enthusiasts, its time to rejoice as the new Triumph Tiger 900 Series has finally made its way to our shores. Triumph Motorcycles has launched the new 2020 Triumph Tiger 900 Series in India in multiple variants with prices starting at Rs. 13.70 lakhs, Ex-showroom India. Here are all the details about it.

The new Tiger 900 Series has been introduced by the British Premium bikemaker as a replacement of the Tiger 800 Series in the country. It gets a completely fresh and updated design language, an all-new engine with new features and is loaded with tech. The Tiger 900 Series is based on a new lightweight split trellis frame with a bolt-on-rear aluminium subframe (very good news for adventure-seeking enthusiasts). This new adventure motorcycle looks very striking and gets a sleeker profile. The front fascia of the bike looks sharp with all-LED headlights and LED DRLs and it gets a slimmer profile which looks less bulky than the Tiger 800.

Internationally, the Triumph Tiger 900 Series is available in multiple variants. Globally, it is proffered in Base, Rally, Rally Pro, GT and GT Pro variants. And, while the GT versions are for touring purpose, the Rally trims are more off-road oriented. In India, the Triumph Tiger 900 Series has been launched in three variants: a more road-oriented touring-focused Tiger 900 GT, the off-road-oriented Tiger 900 Rally and an even more hardcore off-roader, the Tiger 900 Rally Pro. While there are no official words on the launch of other variants in India, it is expected that Triumph might launch some other variants of the motorcycle too but at a later point of time.

Powering this new Triumph Tiger 900 series is a BS6-compliant 888cc, liquid-cooled, inline 3-cylinder engine that produces 95 PS of power at 8750 RPM and 87 Nm of peak torque at 7250 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Triumph claims that this motorcycle delivers 9 per cent more power in the mid-range and the torque output has also increased by 10 per cent, compared to the Tiger 800. The Tiger 900 gets up to 6 different riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport, Off-Road, Rider-configurable and Off-Road Pro. Also, it gets a ton of other electronic aids including standard Electronic cruise control on the Rally and GT version and the Rally Pro model also gets a bi-directional quickshifter (available as an accessory for other variants).

The Triumph Tiger 900 Series is loaded with all the modern-day tech and it gets a host of features including an all-digital TFT display for instrumentation with smartphone connectivity. This TFT display is a 7.0-inch unit and offers an array of customisation options including four different information layout styles and four different colours. It even offers Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation and can also be used to make phone calls and control music. Triumph also offers an optional GoPro module which allows the rider to operate a GoPro action camera through the handlebar controls. Moreover, this bike gets a ton of safety features including an optimised cornering ABS, traction control with IMU and many more.

As already mentioned, the new 2020 Triumph Tiger 900 Series has been launched in India in three variants and multiple colour schemes. The Tiger 900 GT comes in three colour options: Pure White, Sapphire Black and Korosi Red colour while the Rally and the Rally Pro are offered in Pure White, Sapphire Black and Matt Khaki colour options. The entry-level model in India, the Tiger 900 GT is priced at Rs. 13.70 lakhs, the Tiger 900 Rally is priced at Rs. 14.35 lakhs while the range-topping version, the Tiger 900 Rally Pro is priced at Rs. 15.50 lakhs. All prices are applicable to Ex-showroom pan-India.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shoeb Farooq, Business Head - Triumph Motorcycles India said, Were excited to launch the new Tiger 900s in India. The three variants Tiger 900 GT, Rally & Rally pro will cater to both on-road and hard-core off-roading enthusiasts along with those wanting a long-distance touring motorcycle. The new motorcycles set a benchmark with their host of rider-focused technologies and design that aids the rider in pushing their and their machines potential. With benchmark-setting features, the new Tigers surely are the best in class adventure motorcycles one can lay their hands on in the segment today.

Moreover, triumph is also offering a Trekker inspiration kit with a choice of luggage & touring adventure accessories for the Tiger 900 GT, and the Expedition inspiration kit for the Tiger 900 Rally range. Overall there are more than 65 accessories on offer. Also, it rivals against the likes of the BMW F850 GS and Ducati Multistrada 950 in India.
