Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) is all set to introduce the second-gen Celerio in our market. It must be noted here that the launch of the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio was originally programmed for an earlier period but the pandemic has resulted in a delay. The new car will finally launch next month and should have a starting price of Rs 4.50 lakhs (ex-showroom).

There is a possibility that the car will be launched anytime next month. It is also heard that some dealerships have unofficially commenced the bookings of the upcoming Celerio with a token amount between Rs 5000 - Rs 11,000 which is refundable.
Maruti Celerio has been spotted several times on roads but for the first time was spotted undisguised. The car was out for a TVC shoot. The car was shot with a modified Porsche Cayenne that was used for tracking.
The new upcoming Celerio will come with a revamped exterior design language and is expected to be larger than before. The car is built on the same Heartect platform that underpins other models as well such as S-presso, Swift and WagonR.

Exterior Updates
Maruti has redesigned the overall looks of the car. It gets a new redoval grille featuring a honeycomb pattern and a revised front grille. With the updated design, Celerio will be sold as a mini crossover. The car gets a new front bumper that gets minimal lines and comes with new triangular-shaped headlamps flanking the front grille.
The fog lamp surrounds and apron will be contoured with surrounding black elements. Walking around the car, it will offer a larger window area, a long tapering roofline, angular side creases and new alloy wheel designs. The new upcoming crossover will have redesigned wraparound taillamps and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.
Interior and Feature Updates
The automotive giants have so far not yet revealed any updates of the car. It is expected that the carmakers have tweaked the in-cabin experience with an update in the dashboard layout, the addition of a few creature comforts, and a new updated centre console.
Talking about the expected features the new crossover will offer are a multi-functional steering wheel, digital infotainment display compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and electrically adjustable ORVMs. Standard safety features are expected to offer dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and camera, and more.
Specifications
The new upcoming Maruti Suzuki Celerio is expected to be available with the same K-series engine options as that of the WagnoR and the existing model of the Celerio. It is expected that the carmakers offer a 1.0-litre K10B naturally aspirated petrol engine that will be capable of producing 67 bhp of maximum power and 90 Nm of peak torque. The 1.2-litre K12 naturally aspirated petrol engine that is capable of churning out 82 bhp of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The carmakers will offer a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT as well.
