2021 Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT BS6 Launched in India; Priced at Rs 8.84 Lakhs - All Details

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited has recently launched its first BS6-compliant big bike in the country. The new 2021 Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT BS6 has been finally launched in India and its price starts at Rs. 8.84 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. Suzuki had kept all of us waiting for a very long period for their BS6-compliant big bikes. The new BS6 V-Strom 650 XT was first teased on the company's website in April this year. However, thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, its launch was delayed but now it's finally here!

The new BS6-compliant Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT looks almost the same as its BS4 counterpart. There are no major cosmetic upgrades, save for some new body graphics. Also, it doesn't get any new features but what it does get is a new heart which is much more eco-friendly than before. If you remember, the new Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT was also showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo earlier this year. The company calls this ultimate middle-weight adventure motorcycle as a 'Do-It-All' bike. The new V-Strom 650 XT BS6 is available in two colour shades, namely Champion Yellow No. 2 and Pearl Glacier White.

Talking about the heart of the matter, it is powered by a new BS6-compliant 645cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 90-degree V-twin engine. While the official power and torque figures have not been revealed yet, we believe this new fuel-injected BS6 motor will churn out around 71 PS of power at 8800 RPM and 62 Nm of peak torque at 6300 RPM. The engine comes mated to the same six-speed constant mesh manual gearbox and it also gets Suzuki Easy Start System for smoother cold starts. Talking about features, it gets a semi-analogue semi-digital instrument cluster which comes loaded with a ton of information, there is an advanced three-mode traction control system which is switchable, and some other goodies too.

The new Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT gets disc brakes at either end along with dual-channel ABS as standard. The motorcycle gets wire-spoked wheels for better off-roading but with superior tubeless radial tyres. Speaking on the launch, Koichiro Hirao, MD, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd said, "The V-Strom has made its own following in India. The ultimate adventure tourer has proved its mettle in the highway touring capabilities while exploring different terrains. It is truly a masterpiece with the ultimate balance provided by the natural riding position, comfortable seat and the flexible engine character. This is our first BS6-compliant big bike and we are confident that this cleaner and greener motorcycle will continue to win people's hearts with its performance and manoeuvrability as it hit the Indian roads."

Finally, talking about the price, so the price of the new 2021 Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT BS6 starts at Rs. 8.84 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. The V-Strom 650 XT BS6 is now around 1.40 lakh rupees more expensive than the BS4 model.
