2022 Mahindra Alturas G4 New Variant Launched; Rs 6.50 lakh Cheaper Than Toyota Fortuner Diesel AT

Mahindra has rejigged the variants of the Alturas G4 and for 2022, they have axed out the 2WD and 4X4 trims of the SUV. Mahindra has now launched a new variant, 2WD High, of the Alturas G4 at Rs 30.68 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and it gains all the features of the 4X4 version which is now discontinued.

Interestingly, when compared with the segment king, the Toyota Fortuner, this newly launched variant of the Alturas G4 is cheaper by Rs 6.49 lakh. The diesel automatic 4x2 variant of the Fortuner is priced at Rs 37.17 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Feature-wise, the Mahindra Alturas G4 2WD High now gets a power-adjustable driver's seat, rain-sensing wipers, powered tailgate, automatic headlights, multiple airbags and more. It also gets an electric sunroof, ambient lighting, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch alloy wheels and more.

Under the hood, the Alturas G4 continues like before. It gets a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine. It generates 178 bhp of power with a peak torque of 420 Nm. The ARAI-certified mileage sticks to 12.03 kmpl and this engine is mated to a 7-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The Alturas G4 rivals Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Merdian, Isuzu MU-X and Skoda Kodiaq.
