Hi, I'm Tejen. I was born and brought up in a small town of Haryana. However, from the day of my birth and until now, I've always lived around cars and motorcycles. More than passion, the automotive world is my only lifestyle. It's the connection to the vehicle that delivers me peace. However, when it comes to a choice; my instinct leads me towards motorcycles.

2022 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Gets Officially Displayed Ahead Of Launch

2022 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 has made its official debut in Thailand. It will officially launch on August 7 in India in 2 variants.

The 2022 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is by far the most anticipated bike launch of this year. Not just the Indian fans but globally the Royal Enfield lovers have been eagerly waiting for its launch. The Hunter has been displayed to the public ahead of its official launch. The pricing will come out on August 7 which happens to be the launch date for the Hunter 350.

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Design & Features

The Hunter has to be the most attractive bike in its segment. The retro-modern design combination has worked its magic very well. The roadster design layout is mixed in sync with the retro appeal. The front has a short fender with a 41 mm thick telescopic suspension. A round headlight makes way for the retro appeal. The offset instrument panel and the round mirrors all makeup for an attractive design from the front.

The Hunter will be using a semi-digital instrument console carried from the Meteor 350. An optional tripper navigation pod is also provided along with a USB phone charger. The sculpted fuel tank design goes well with the single large and wide seat. The rear chopped-off fender design and upright-set posture make up for the modern roadster design appeal.

The taillight and the turn indicators are LED units on the Metro variant. It will be available in 2 variants - Metro & Retro. These variants will offer feature and price differences to the customers but will remain design and engine-wise similar. Royal Enfield will also be offering 17-inch alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, dual-channel ABS, etc., as features list. A total of 6 colour options will be provided including blue, red, black, silver, white, and grey paint schemes.

Engine & Specifications

The Hunter 350 has been designed on the J-platform which is also seen on the Classic 350. Surprisingly, the Hunter weighs 14 kg less in terms of chassis design when compared to the Classic itself. This is a huge saving in terms of weight. The Hunter 350 weighs only 181 kg wet. This is by far the lightest & most compact bike from the Royal Enfield stable.

However, the engine is the same unit as seen on the Classic 350. The 350cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine has been carried as it is. It produces 20.2 PS of power & 27 Nm of peak torque. But, the engine ECU map is different on the Hunter to make it more agile and user-friendly in the city. The 5-speed gearbox is also designed with shorter gear ratios for the first 4 gears. The 5th gear is an overdrive to provide relaxed cruising speed to the rider.

The company claims a top speed of 114 kmph. The claimed fuel economy stands at a respectable 36.2 kmpl. All thanks to the weight-saving design and the new small exhaust which has been centrally placed. The reason for it is to provide more central gravity and less inertia. This helps in agile performance for city riding and helps in filtering the traffic easily.

The rear suspension is a 6-step preload-adjustable tube type that aims at enhanced riding comfort. Braking is done via a 300mm front disc brake and the rear is a 270mm disc with dual channel ABS. However, the Retro variant will receive a drum brake and single-channel ABS as expected.

India Launch, Price, & Rivals

As we speak, the launch event continues in Thailand. While the bike has been displayed, it will launch on August 7 in India. The price reveal will also showcase other details like the prices of accessories & variant price differences. The expected pricing is Rs 1.7 lakh for the Metro variant. The Retro variant, however, might be less costly due to fewer features.

The main rivals of the Hunter 350 include - Honda CB350 RS, Benelli Imperiale 400, Jawa Forty Two, & Yezdi Roadster.
