2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 Launch Scheduled For 24 May - Check Details

Triumph India has announced the launch date for the 2022 iteration of Tiger 1200 for the Indian market. The Tiger 1200, the company's premier adventure tourer, will be released in India on May 24, 2022. The forthcoming motorcycle features updated graphics and design. Official motorcycle reservations have been accepted since December 2021. On the official website, the Tiger 1200's two models are listed, one is an off-road-oriented Rally and a more road-friendly GT version.

2022 Triumph Tiger 1200

When it comes to engine specifications, the Tiger 1200 will be powered by a BS-6 compliant 1,160cc inline three-cylinder engine. The engine churns out 148 bhp of power and 130 Nm of peak torque. Triumph's transmission features a 6-speed slip-assist clutch with quick-shifter support for quick and easy gear changes. Because of the T-Plane crank design and irregular firing order, the rebuilt engine now produces more power than its predecessor. This technology upgrade allows for improved low-end tractability and exhilarating mid-range power.

The first is the GT, which has 200mm of travel and comes with Showa suspension. Also included are 19-inch front and 18-inch rear aluminium cast alloy wheels on the GT. The Showa suspension with 220mm travel is used in the rally variant. The beak is longer in the front, and the headlamps are slightly higher. The rally variant comes with tubeless spoked 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tyres from Triumph.

There are a few more distinctions as well. Unlike the Rally Pro and GT models, which have a 20-litre gasoline tank, the Rally Explorer and GT Explorer models have a massive 30-litre tank. Furthermore, the new Tiger 1200 is approximately 25kg lighter than the previous model.

The motorcycle also features top-of-the-line components such as Brembo brakes and features like a Bluetooth-enabled seven-inch TFT screen, numerous riding modes, and traction control round out the package.

The upcoming Triumph Tiger 1200 will compete with BMW R 1250 GS, Ducati Multistrada V4, and other ADV tourers in the market. The motorcycle is likely to cost between Rs 17.5 lakh and Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom).
