MY26 Kawasaki Ninja 300 Updates: Sharper & More Purposeful

The MY26 Kawasaki Ninja 300 carries forward Kawasaki's familiar 'mass-forward, minimalist-tail' design philosophy, but now looks closer to larger Ninja models. The most noticeable update is the new dual-projector headlamp setup, inspired by the Ninja ZX-6R, which enhances both night-time visibility and visual appeal. Complementing this is a larger floating windscreen, styled after the ZX-10R, designed to improve wind protection during highway cruising and revised tyre patterns further sharpen the motorcycle's stance, giving it a more premium, big-bike presence without altering its approachable proportions. The Ninja 300 will be offered in Lime Green and Candy Lime Green colour options for the Indian market.
The Ninja 300 is built around a steel-tube diamond frame and suspension duties are handled by a 37 mm telescopic fork at the front and a Uni-Trak monoshock at the rear, with 5-step preload adjustability to suit different riding conditions and loads. Braking hardware includes petal disc brakes at both ends, supported by ABS, offering consistent stopping power and better heat dissipation.

The 2026 Ninja 300 comes equipped with a sporty analogue-style tachometer paired with a multi-function LCD display. The console shows essential information such as speed, fuel level, trip meters, clock, and an economical riding indicator, all backlit in white for improved visibility in varied lighting conditions. Kawasaki has also worked on heat management, with redesigned fairing vents and airflow channels that direct hot air away from the rider, an important upgrade for Indian traffic conditions.

Engine & Performance
At the heart of the 2026 Ninja 300 is the familiar 296cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, a key differentiator in the segment. The motor produces 39 PS at 11,000 rpm and 26.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm, offering a balance between tractable low-end response and engaging top-end performance. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch, along with Kawasaki's dual throttle valve system, borrowed from its larger sportbikes.
The updated Ninja 300 is priced from Rs 3.17 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be sold through Kawasaki's dealership network across India, with deliveries starting from mid-February 2026.
Verdict
With the 2026 Ninja 300, Kawasaki has chosen evolution over reinvention. The motorcycle retains its proven mechanical foundation while gaining meaningful updates in design, comfort and refinement. While it may not introduce radical new technology, the Ninja 300 still holds its place for offering twin-cylinder performance, approachable ergonomics and a premium Ninja identity. For riders seeking a refined, everyday-friendly sportbike with strong brand heritage, the MY26 Ninja 300 remains a compelling option in India's entry-level performance motorcycle space.
