Google has revealed that they are planning to add new features to Android Auto along with a brand new user interface. This new update would feature a much more optimised feel with the user being able to navigate faster through the tabs. This would facilitate faster direction fetching and rerouting in maps, easy control over media and improved overall functionality.

Google is also planning to introduce a split screen mode across different screen sizes, types and resolutions. This would help the users get a handy icon interface where they can easily reach out to the desired icon without navigating while driving. This would eliminate the need to scroll down through the entire list and divert focus from driving. Moreover, the user would now be able to operate multiple apps on the same screen without interruptions.
Alongside, Google will also make the Android Auto platform more utilitarian and productive in the car. Google Assistant for Android Auto will now be available in a revamped avatar with contextual suggestions on offer, Google assistant would be able to provide quick replies to messages, share your travel times or itinerary to a friend, recommend music and much more. Additionally, Android Auto users would now be able to quickly text or call their favourite contacts with just a single tap on the screen and respond with the preselected messages from a suggestions list.
This update would be rolled out by Google within a few months and would make the platform more user friendly. Android Auto is offered by many automotive manufacturers in their stock infotainment systems and also in many aftermarket systems as well and has become popular over the years.
