What's New With The Bajaj Pulsar 180

While the overall design stays true to its classic streetfighter roots, the updated Bajaj Pulsar 180 gets a few modern touches. It now features an LED headlamp and a negative LCD instrument cluster, bringing it in line with the latest updates seen on the Pulsar 150. The styling remains familiar, with muscular bodywork, sporty graphics, and a simple, no-nonsense appeal that has defined the Pulsar range for years. The bike is offered in a single variant and comes in multiple colour options, including black with contrasting accents like red, blue, and gold, along with a white finish.

The Bajaj Pulsar 180 continues with a straightforward mechanical setup known for its reliability and ease of use. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is managed by a 280 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, supported by ABS for added safety. It rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends with tubeless tyres, while a 15-litre fuel tank ensures decent range. With a kerb weight of 156 kg and a ground clearance of 165 mm, the bike will feel practical for everyday riding conditions.

Engine & Performance

Bajaj Pulsar 180 2026

Powering the Bajaj Pulsar 180 is a 178.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It produces 17 PS at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. While peak power figures remain unchanged from the earlier version, torque sees a slight bump, improving overall rideability. Compared to the Pulsar 150, the 180 delivers a noticeable performance upgrade, making it a better choice for riders looking for stronger acceleration and more highway capability. At the same time, its output remains closely matched to rivals in the segment, ensuring competitive performance.

Price & Rivals

At Rs 1.22 lakh (ex-showroom), the Bajaj Pulsar 180 sits above the Pulsar 150 by roughly Rs 12,000, positioning itself as a logical upgrade for buyers seeking more performance. Interestingly, it undercuts its direct competitor, the TVS Apache RTR 180, by around Rs 3,000, making it a more affordable option in the segment.

Verdict

The return of the Bajaj Pulsar 180 is less about reinventing the wheel and more about filling a crucial gap in Bajaj's lineup. It sticks to a proven formula of simple mechanics, accessible performance, and familiar styling, while adding just enough modern touches to stay relevant. For buyers upgrading from the Pulsar 150 or those seeking a budget-friendly performance commuter, the Pulsar 180 makes a strong case. It may not be the most feature-packed offering, but it delivers where it matters: dependable performance and value.
