BMW has introduced two new variants in the Indian market, offering luxury and performance in distinct segments. The BMW 740d M Sport, produced locally at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai, is priced at an attractive Rs. 1.81 crore. In contrast, the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, positioned as a flagship model, comes with a price tag of Rs. 2.50 crore (all prices are ex-showroom).

BMW 740d M Sport Launched At Rs. 1.81 Crores: Features Frenzy

The BMW 740d M Sport brings a range of premium features to the table, enhancing the luxury and comfort of the vehicle. Notable highlights include LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) with BMW Crystal lights adorned with Swarovski crystals. Positioned just below are efficient LED headlamps for optimal visibility.

At the center of the vehicle's fascia, there's an illuminated kidney grille that adds an eye-catching element to the design. The 740d M Sport is also equipped with adaptive air suspension. The vehicle features an automatic tailgate, a comfort access system for effortless entry and starting, and a soft-close function for the doors. The four-zone climate control system allows individualized climate settings for various passengers. For rear-seat passengers, a 31.3-inch screen provides takes care of entertainment and information.

The BMW 740d M Sport is powered by a potent 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine, producing 286hp and 650Nm of torque, with an additional 18hp and 200Nm from its 48V mild-hybrid electric motor. Meanwhile, this powertrain, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, enabling it to achieve 0-100kph in 6 seconds. While it excels in performance and efficiency, it lacks the remote start function found in the 740i variant

BMW iM70 xDrive Launched At Rs. 2.50 Crores

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive, in the M70 xDrive trim, offers a lavish and high-tech cabin featuring a twin-display setup for infotainment and instrumentation, multi-zone climate control, gesture control, wireless charging, and a Bowers and Wilkins sound system with a remarkable 36 speakers. Moreover. rear passengers enjoy a 31.3-inch 8K retractable touchscreen, along with 5.5-inch touchscreen control panels on the rear doors, while safety is ensured with six airbags and ADAS. The interior exudes luxury, with a Piano Black theme and silver stitching, complemented by M-specific touches such as illuminated M door sills, M Merino Leather upholstery, an M leather steering wheel, and an M-specific footrest.

Under the hood, the new BMW i7 M70 xDrive boasts a dual-motor configuration powered by a 101.7kWh battery unit, providing a claimed range of up to 560 kilometers on a single charge. Meanwhile, these electric motors are finely tuned to deliver a combined power output of 657bhp and 1,100Nm of torque. With this power, the electric sedan exhibits rapid acceleration, achieving 0-100kmph in a mere 3.7 seconds, all while maintaining an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.
