How To Start A BMW With A Metal Key?

Original Article - December 25, 2019 - Nowadays, we see most cars coming with keyless entry and a start-stop function. It may seem fancy and useful to some, it sure has its drawbacks. What if the battery of the key fob drains out and you need a manual start? Or if the battery of the car is out then you might not be able to enter with the keyless!

Well, to answer your question as to how to get inside the car and start it, we explain this situation with an example of BMW. Like how to turn the ignition of the BMW if the keyfob isn't working! Here is a step by step guide to answer all your queries:

Step 1: Remove the metal blade from the BMW key fob. You can find it on the other side of the buttons.

Step 2: Now, the next step is to get inside the vehicle and with that metal piece, unlock the driver side door of the vehicle.

Step 3: Place the key in the ignition slot. Now, if your BMW is deprived of the slot then place the keyfob next to the right of the steering column. You may find the key figure in the steering column.

Step 4: Press the brake pedal and push the start/stop button. If your vehicle has a manual gearbox then press the clutch and then press the button.

If the vehicle does not start then the key wasn't recognised. You may also get a check control message for the same on the dashboard. Try the same procedure again but with a gap of at least 3 seconds.

Note - Sometimes the radio frequency can be a hindrance with the frequency of the BMW key. The electronic devices in your pocket or the one's charging can be interfering.
