BMW India has piled up some launches for the year 2020 including BMW X6, X3M and X4M, BMW 2-series and BMW 8-series. Recently, a car community page called Automobili Ardent shared some images of the BMW M8 and M840i Gran Coupe in India. These images confirm that the India launch of the BMW M8 and M840i Gran Coupe is imminent and we might see these beauties rolling on our roads in coming months.
We all are familiar with the havoc caused by the global pandemic Coronavirus and we all are suffering from this global problem. Factories are shut and some important car launches like of 2020 Honda City have also been cancelled. This could also be the reason for the slight delay of the BMW 8-series India launch. Two M8s and one M840i Gran Coupe spotted on Indian soil after the showcase in the BMW Art Festival this year.
Talking about the M8 first, it is available in both Coupe and Gran Coupe iterations globally but we expect only the M8 coupe to be launched in India. Powering this luxury grand tourer is a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 600 German horses and 750 Nm of torque. If you opt for the Competiton pack, the engine will deliver 625 Hp and 750 Nm of torque.

The M8 will shove you from 0-100 Kmph in just 3.3 seconds and the Competition pack will shed one-tenth of a second in the record timing of the M8. The engine power is channelled via an 8-speed torque convertor to all four wheels.

The M840i Gran Coupe gets a pair of 3.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The model expected to launch in India will get a 3.0-litre inline-6 turbocharged petrol engine churning out 340 Hp and 500 Nm of torque paired with an 8-speed auto and Xdrive. The Gran Coupe will have five doors and space to seat 4 people in comfort.
These bimmers look so astonishing and also get a very big sticker price, the range is expected to start somewhere from Rs 1.5 crores and the fast runner M8 will cost in a region of Rs 2 crores. India launch of the BMW M8 and M840i Gran Coupe might happen in coming months and these will be brought in via CBU route.
