Maruti Suzuki has launched the Dzire Facelift and it is more feature-loaded than before, gets a new engine and cosmetic updates too. From now, Maruti Dzire will only be available with a petrol engine as the 1.3-litre DDIS diesel has been axed from the lineup due to incompatibility with BS6 emission norms. Lets quickly have a look at all the changes in the 2020 Maruti Dzire.
New Petrol Engine, No Diesel
Maruti Suzuki has finally ruled out the ageing yet Indian's favourite 1.3-litre Fiat sourced DDIS diesel engine and it won't be sold with any MSIL car now. MSIL has shifted its focus towards petrol engines and updated Dzire get benefitted with a new 1.2-litre dual-jet petrol engine which now produces 88.45 Hp and 113 Nm of torque. It is available in both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmissions. It replaces the old 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine available in the Wagon-R and Swift.

More Power and Fuel Economy
The older 1.2-litre petrol engine used to produce 82 Hp and 113 Nm of torque with a claimed fuel economy of 21 km/l. The updated Dual-jet motor produces 88.45 Hp and 113 Nm of torque. Now the claimed fuel economy is 23.26 km/l with the 5-speed manual and 24.12 km/l with 5-speed AMT. AMT model returns more fuel economy thanks to the improvements made to the automatic manual transmission.

More Safety Aids
Maruti Dzire facelift gets the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with hill hold in AMT variants. Not only this, but MSIL has also improved the front and rear brakes for more braking power and longer life. One more nifty feature which has been added is the ideal start/stop function which adds convenience and also improves fuel economy.

The top-end 2020 Maruti Dzire ZXI+ variant comes with a new cruise control feature and also a TFT screen which we see in Baleno and Ciaz.
