BMW R18 Cruiser Motorcycle Launched in India; Price Starts at Rs 18.90 Lakhs

BMW Motorrad has today finally launched the new 2020 BMW R18 Cruiser Motorcycle in the country. The BMW R18 was first showcased at the EICMA 2019 in the concept avatar. The production-spec BMW R18 was revealed earlier this year. Now, the new BMW R18 Cruiser has been launched in the country at a starting price of Rs. 18.90 lakhs, Ex-showroom pan-India. The new BMW R18 stands out in the design department. It looks absolutely humongous and gorgeous. Talking about the design of this motorcycle, so the new BMW R18 gets styling inspiration from the classic BMW R5. It has the genes of the classic BMW R5 roadster which was built by the company around eighty years ago. This Cruiser has a retro appeal but it gets modern elements. The new BMW R18 is an extremely long motorcycle. At the front, it gets a round-shaped all-LED headlamp, the chrome-finished boxer-twin engine has its own charm and at the rear, it gets fish tail-styled exhaust.

Talking about the powertrain of this motorcycle, so the new 2020 BMW R18 Cruiser gets a BS6-compliant 1802cc, air and oil-cooled, fuel-injected, boxer-twin engine. This motor churns out 91 PS of maximum power at 4750 RPM and a whopping 158 Nm of peak torque at 3000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and it gets three different riding modes. They are Rain, Rock and Roll. The R18 Cruiser gets safety features like an Automatic Stability Control and an Integral ABS (combined anti-lock braking system) as standard. The optional bits include Hill-start assist, reverse assist, etc.

The new BMW R18 gets telescopic forks at the front and a centre-mounted preload-adjustable cantilever strut at the rear. The braking duties on the R18 are handled by disc brakes at both the ends. Lastly, talking about the price, so the new BMW R18 Cruiser Motorcycle has been launched in India in two variants - Standard and First Edition. The Standard R18 is priced at Rs. 18.90 lakhs while the First Edition model is priced at Rs. 21.90 lakhs, Ex-showroom pan-India.
