The BMW Z4 M40i Pure Impulse has been launched, with prices ranging between Rs 96.90 lakh to Rs 97.90 lakh (all prices ex-showroom), and with summer upon us, this might be the perfect time to enjoy a drop-top car. BMW Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition Details
The Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition carries over the core design and silhouette of the regular Z4, featuring the same kidney grille, sleek headlights and tail lights. The changes are rather subtle in nature. There are two new paint schemes on offer; Frozen Deep Green and Sanremo Green, and for the first time in India, the Z4 comes with a staggered wheel setup, featuring a 19-inch front and a 20-inch rear M Light alloy wheels. Additonally, it also gets M Sport brake callipers finished in metallic red.
Under the hood, it retains the 3.0-litre, twin-turbo straight-six engine from the regular Z4, producing 335bhp and 500Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed manual transmission has been designed specifically for this edition of the Z4. The automatic variant completes a 0-100kmph run in 4.5 seconds, while the manual takes 4.6 seconds.

On the inside, the manual variant receives Leather Vernasca Cognac upholstery with contrast stitching, along with M Sport seats and an M leather steering wheel. The 10.25-inch blended infotainment touch screen and the instrument cluster retain the hexagonal shape, and they run on the BMW Operating System 7.0.
The instrument cluster continues to feature 3D maps, and some driver aids include park assist and a driving assistant. Additionally, other features include a 12-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system, a full-colour head-up display unit, wireless smartphone charging, three driving modes, adaptive M Sport suspension, and an M Sport differential among other things.
Verdict
The Z4 Pure Impulse Edition will appeal to those premium buyers looking for the unmatched pleasure of driving with the top down, and that too with a stick shift on offer. Don't be surprised if BMW closes the order books earlier than expected.
