Citroen Aircross X Details

The Aircross X does not deviate too much from the regular Aircross in terms of the design, and it remains largely familiar visually, even if it isn't a very common sight on Indian roads. However, it now gets a new Deep Forest Green paint scheme. It will also continue to get other dual-tone colour options as well.

The equipment list is where things are different, as the Aircross X comes with ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, push-button start/stop, cruise control, wireless smartphone charging, and projector fog lamps. It also borrows the new Cara voice assistant from the Basalt X, and it is said to speak and understand about a total of 52 Indian and global languages. Additionally, it now also gets soft-touch material on the dashboard, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, a redesigned gear lever, footwell lighting, and gold accents elsewhere in the interior.

The 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system, the 7-inch digital instrument cluster and power-adjustable ORVMs were already on offer, and the list of safety features includes aix airbags, ESP, Hill hold, ABS, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear parking sensors. The Aircross will be available in seven different variants, and the table below shows the price list.
Variant | Price (Ex-showroom) |
---|---|
You | Rs 8.29 lakh |
Plus | Rs 9.77 lakh |
Turbo Plus 7S | Rs 11.37 lakh |
Turbo Max 7S | Rs 12.35 lakh |
Turbo Max Dual Tone 7S | Rs 12.55 lakh |
Turbo AT Max 7S | Rs 13.49 lakh |
Turbo AT Max Dual Tone 7S | Rs 13.69 lakh |
The same set of 1.2-litre powertrains have been carried over. The nat-asp unit produces 80.4bhp and 115Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual. The turbo-petrol unit pushes out 108bhp and 190Nm to 205Nm of torque, depending on whether you choose the 6-speed manual or the torque-converter automatic.
Verdict
The Aircross X now gets enough kit in its arsenal to take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and many other rivals in a hotly-contested segment. What remains to be seen is how effectively Citroen pushes its 'X' lineup of cars as part of the new 2.0 programme.
