Citroen Basalt Crash Test
The Basalt ended up scoring 26.19 out of 32.00 points in adult occupancy safety, having secured 10.19 out 16.00 points in the front offset deformable barrier test, and a full 16.00 out of 16.00 in the side movable deformable barrier test. While the front collision impact ranged between 'good' to 'marginal' for the driver and front passenger, the side movable and pole barrier impact was rated 'good'. In terms of child occupancy safety, the Basalt scored 35.90 out of 49.00.
This news does come across as a fresh breath of relief for those who have been wanting to buy Citroen cars, but got put off by the dismal safety ratings of the eC3 hatchback conducted by the GNCAP sometime back.

The Citroen Basalt comes with six airbags as standard, along with hill-hold, ESP, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a high-speed alert, and reverse parking sensors. Higher variants come equipped with a rear-view camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
